The 2017/18 Season Is Over (almost)
The main part of the 13th season of the incredibly successful Schools Indoor Rowing League has now finished. Around 200 teams took part this year (that's 880 individuals) rowing 841,851m between them, and we've still got the Bonus round to go. Congratulations to all who took part.
Even if you've not taken part in the main season you can still enter the bonus round. This coincides with the National School Sports Week and is a stand alone round for teams of four only, the results do not affect your season standings.
The positive feedback received over the 10 years that the Schools Indoor Rowing League has been running reflects the enthusiasm of the 75000 pupils and staff entrants for the lively and involving nature of the competition. One of the most encouraging aspects of the competitions is the participation of children who have had little or no success in ball-skills based activities, and who are delighted to find an activity in which they can experience the joys of teamwork, and even winning!
If your school hasn't taken part before, now is definitely the time to start. The beauty of the Schools League is that it's up to you when and where you take part. You can choose to organise your teams to race in or out of school hours - all of the challenges can be completed within time allocated for lessons - the choice is yours. No travelling is required to compete as teams race in their own school and enter their results online.
We look forward to welcoming you all whether you are experienced Schools League campaigners or eager newbies. We trust you will find the competition exhilarating, inspirational and above all fun.
